July 24th
Yes, I know that it is August 22, but I wanted to post this one...
Pioneer day has always been one of my favorite holidays. As a young child, my grandma (Gran) would decorate a parade float for all of the grandkids to ride in the North Logan parade. I remember riding to Salt Lake with my mom and Gran to Modern Display to get all the new glitz for the float. The North Logan parade is unlike any other. It's the BEST parade. Lots of thought and time goes into all of the floats, bike parade, and pioneer children singing and walking.
This years float theme was, "Days until the Pumpkin Walk." We love the Pumpkin Walk. My wonderful grandparents Wally and Ida Beutler started the Pumpkin Walk in Grandads fields years ago. Gran had a great love for Halloween, and wanted to create a fun, free family activity that people could attend on Halloween. The city of North Logan has since taken over it, and Nancy Israelsen helps carry on the tradition of something I hold very true and close to my heart.
My wonderful aunties have carried on the tradition of doing this for the great-grandchildren. My kids look forward to it each year. This year my sister was out of town, so she let me take Tristin and KarLee. They were so excited to throw the candy.
We met afterwards at the Godfreys for yummy BBQ's, salads, treats and homemade kettle corn (thanks Aunt Diane). I come from a wonderful family of cooks.
It was great to see all my cousins and visit. LOVE YOU GUYS! Next year we are planning a reunion, and I am so excited! I love being with my family
just cousins, hangin out having a great time!
my cute cousin Rebecca, who is getting married in September. YEA - CONGRATS!
Thanks again to my wonderful family who reminds me how great of a heritage I come from.

Gittins Family Fun
BFF's Jos and Maddy
We stayed the night at my cousin Margo's. She was so gracious to let me bring eight people into her home for a sleepover. We had a great time, made some great breakfast - set the smoke detector off, and even did some early morning shopping at Target.
We all went to Cherry Hill on Wednesday. I had never been there either - I know, can you even imagine! The kids had a great time, swimming for hours. The great thing...no one got burnt. Ashton was a little red on the tummy from laying on the lazy river all day.
He was just taking a small rest before going back down the slides
I played it safe, and put a shirt on him on day two. Kaehla, Brian and JoAnn went home Wednesday night, while the kids and I stayed another night with Margo. We went to the Gateway and did some shopping. The kids were so tired, they were happy to go to bed. Swimming wore them right out!

Jaxon, Addy Logan and Ashton having a snack
The kids were a little worn out after two days of swimming. We stayed the night in Grantsville at Debbies house with all the cousins. I woke up early (did I mention that vacations are NOT for sleeping) to make Biscuits and Sausage gravy for everyone. We set off on our convoy to Park City early Friday afternoon. Jayson came with his parents.
Friday night the kids swam and ate Pizza while the adults went to Midway to the Zermatt to have Seafood Buffet. Do you all know how I feel about things that swim? NOT REALLY A FAN!But I was a good sport for all of those who enjoy it. Jayson was in heaven - I ate a whole lot of veggies and dessert. We laughed the entire time. Jayson learned how to speak Weeblish, his new own personal made up Jayson language. For those of you who know my husband - he is a large child who does not want to grow up. Maybe we should have taken him to Check E Cheese.
Addy with Cassidy and Emily and "George Washington" hair
Saturday we woke up to snow on the mt. caps and rain. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! The girls and I went shopping, and Jayson hung out in the room with the boys. We played games, ate, laughed, ate more, ate, ate, did I mention that we were ALWAYS eating? GOOD food - just A LOT!
My little Diva in training.
Sunday morning we headed back up to the Mt. for the coaster ride. We played a little bit at the outlets, ate some more, and headed home...
